I began my fitness journey when I was 15 years old. At the time I was at school and in the process of GCSE's. It really all started as an escape from revising and the stress of exams.
In the beginning I was just doing workout's in my bedroom and watching video's on You Tube to improve my technique. During sixth form I decide to join a gym, where I began using and teaching myself about weights to improve my strength. During a gym session I was dead lifting; and one of the personal trainers, Tom, approached me and asked if I would be interested in power lifting as he thought I was really strong (I didn't even realize at the time that I was already lifting quite heavy!) Power Lifting was something I had never even considered but decided to give it a try! Tom designed a program for me and helped me enormously with training and technique, he really put me through my paces!!
I began training quite intensely and entered a local competition, where I was able to win my first medal! Since then fitness has really become my passion and part of my everyday life.
I really wanted to make this page in the hope that I can inspire others to find something they are passionate about and just go for it. Not necessarily to compete with others, or to be how social media tells you to be, just for yourself, to be the best you can.
Keep pursuing your interests and keep persevering
